dungeon master 2
yes i also own dm1
i came into a huge late 90s/early 00s video game inheritance, and never have i been more in love with a game's style and cute retro progression. yes, it's old. but i connected with both, particularly two, and it's close to my heart knowing someone important to me liked it. i will not hear any criticisms. which... there's likely a lot. LOOK. industry standards were DIFFERENT.
nightmare kart
i think originally bloodborne kart?
my favorite mario kart dupe because i love my wii. you're lucky i'm not getting into wii or gamecube games, or there'd be a lot more wario on this list. who's the girl nextdoor, living in the haunted mansion. you're even luckier i'm not citing atari or ps2 crap. dude, you can't stop winning. that is, until you play nmkart. for some reason i can't get 1st place, but i probably just suck at pc racing. maybe it's ported badly? but it's really not. super well made regardless. very intuitive with awesome design.
open house
free itchio fodder
i know, i know, but i can't help it. i wish the second half of the game was less of a bore, not how i would've made it go. but the start atmosphere and the ironic internet vibe is so compelling. it's really not even a long play.
fnaf 3
you were predicting this one, weren't you...
yes we all know i love fnaf. whatever. game 3's my favorite. i get it's probably not yours. you probably like 2 or 4 or pizza sim, and i love those too. probably more than you. sister location also kicked ass. look my life sort of revolves around this game, it's hard to type a casual message about it. game 3's vomit green and decaying atmosphere just charmed me. you take decomp aesthetics and great ambient soundtrack and you get cj in love. springtrap was scott's best animatronic render too, you can hate it or deny it but you can't change it. not even biased, i like monty. and i don't know, maybe rockstar freddy. jeremy fitzgerald. i should also mention i'm a dl dsaf chick. i'll end this here...
i ate old man's liver and now this btch is mine
from violent horror stories
this is actually the only one in the mix to genuinely disturb me. something about the theme and the cold drag of it, it just stuck in my memory, even more than its famous companion in this collection. i also dig the vhs title screen design.
ac syndicate
just one stop in a great series
... but maybe, this is where they should've stopped. i don't know if it ever got better than this. "but ezio was better--" shut up. "but they weren't traditional assassins--" yes they were. more than conner, and he was my favorite. more than YOUR favorite, which is probably edward. "but unity's graphics were so much better--" yeah and how did that go? i love jacob and evie. i think this game had the perfect mix of great story, character diversity, so much to do content-wise, also smack dab in an awesome era. good villains, too. but they'll never be haytham.
